SCHLIESSER, Michael

Studio employee (1913-1914)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Michael Schliesser, an employee at the Thanhouser studio in New Rochelle, was appointed wild animal manager in autumn 1913. His name appeared in publicity in connection with the "Thanhouser Zoo."

Biographical Notes: Early in his career Michael Schliesser was employed by the Hagenbeck Circus in Germany. Prior to coming to Thanhouser he collected animal specimens and worked as a taxidermist for the New York Museum of Natural History.
