Volume III: Biographies
Thanhouser Career Synopsis: In 1914 Louise Everts was seen in a Thanhouser film.
Biographical Notes: Louise Everts, a South Carolina girl, pursued a stage career and was seen in such productions as The Dairy Farm (1902), The Man of the Hour (1907-1908), and He Fell in Love With His Wife. She married Mark Perry Squire, a Cleveland, Ohio securities broker and social figure. A son was born to the union. The couple subsequently divorced, in an action which was a sensation in their city. Miss Everts then closed up her house and went back to continue her career on the stage, where she was seen in Lew Fields' About Town company. In 1914 she worked at the Thanhouser studio in Deborah.
On June 1, 1915 she opened in the role of Beauty in Experience, which went from New York City on a road tour. Earlier, she had been an understudy in the same production at the Casino Theatre. A contemporary account referred to her as "a picturesque blonde of great beauty." The 1916-1917 season saw her on the road in the role of Fashion in the same play. A Paris apartment was her occasional home from about 1912 to 1916, until in the latter year she relinquished it for use as a hospital.
Note: Her name was often misspelled as "Everett," and in at least one Thanhouser publicity notice, her name was listed as "Louis" Evert.
