Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Gladys Dore appeared in Thanhouser films in 1916 and 1917.
Biographical Notes: Gladys Dore was born in New York City and educated in Los Angeles. Her early career was spent on the stage in musical comedy and vaudeville shows. Her screen career may have commenced with Thanhouser, for whom she played ingenue parts in films in 1916 and early 1917. She subsequently appeared in the 1918 release of What Becomes of the Children? (Corra Beach Pictures for The Regal Photo-Play Company).
The October 1916 Motion Picture News Studio Directory noted that she was 5'5" tall, weighed 130 pounds, and had blonde hair and blue eyes. At the time Gladys Dore lived at 711 Eagle Avenue in New York City and worked for Thanhouser in New Rochelle. Her pastimes included swimming, horseback riding, and tennis.
