Thanhouser Career Synopsis: John Maher appeared in Thanhouser films in 1912.
Biographical Notes: The following obituary appeared in Variety, April 28, 1943, and may have pertained to the Thanhouser player: "John Maher, 52, known as the 'Irish Troubadour' on the vaudeville circuit a generation ago, was found dead in his St. Louis hotel room last week. His death was attributed to natural causes. Maher, composer of A Little Bit o' Heaven [actually, this was one of Ernest R. Ball's songs] and other popular ditties, was emceeing at the Missouri Theatre, St. Louis. A sister survives."
