STEVENS, Grace *

Actress (1915-1917)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Grace Stevens appeared in Thanhouser films during the 1915-1917 era.

Biographical Notes: Grace Elizabeth Stevens (her middle name was rarely used in publicity) was born in Chicago in 1875 and educated at the American Academy. She followed a career on the stage as a stock player and as a musician. Her screen work including acting for Florida films (Enchantment), Vitagraph, Photodrama (Time Lock No. 776, January 1915), Thanhouser, Columbia for Metro (Life's Shadows, October 1916; Garden of Eden), Fox (A Modern Cinderella, January 1917), Klever Komedy for Paramount (The Honeyless Honeymoon, January 1917), and Corra Beach Pictures for Regal Photo-Play Company (What Becomes of the Children? December 1918). The April 12, 1917 edition of the Motion Picture News Studio Directory noted that she was 5'7" tall, weighed 156 pounds, and had a dark complexion, gray hair, and brown eyes. At the time her home address was 747 Quincy Street, Brooklyn, New York, and she was affiliated with the Regal studio in Jacksonville.
