DARLING, Ida *

Actress (1917)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Ida Darling appeared in a Thanhouser film in 1917.

Biographical Notes: Ida Darling was born in New York City in 1876 (one account says 1875). Her early career was spent on the stage. She was in films in the teens, and by autumn 1916 she had worked with Famous Players (The Lost Bridegroom) and Fox (Hypocrisy and other films). At the time her business address was care of the Professional Woman's League, New York City. Ida Darling appeared in the 1917 Thanhouser release of When Love Was Blind. She also played parts in All Star's The Nightingale (October 1917), Paramount's Mrs. Dane's Defense (January 1918), and Vitagraph's The Girl of Today (October 1918), among other releases. In 1917 her home address was 830 7th Avenue, New York City. She continued to appear in films through the mid 1930s. Her death occurred in Hollywood on June 5, 1936.
