Thanhouser Career Synopsis: James McGaskill was an assistant director at the Thanhouser studio in 1914 and 1915. The New Rochelle Pioneer, October 24, 1914, printed this note: "Perry Horton has resigned as Carroll Fleming's assistant director, and has gone to New York to work. Jim McGaskill takes his place."

Note: His surname sometimes appeared in print as "McCaskill."
