Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Ray Hallor appeared in a Thanhouser film in 1917.
Biographical Notes: Ray Hallor was born on January 11, 1900 (one source says January 14) in Washington, D.C. The stage beckoned, and he was seen before the footlights with Maude Adams and in the Gus Edwards Revue. He appeared in the 1917 Thanhouser release of An Amateur Orphan. He was at the Thanhouser studio for only a short time, during a period when the company was diminishing its activities.
Ray Hallor remained in films through the early 1930s and was seen in such releases as Inez of Hollywood (with Constance Talmadge), The Trail of '98, The Haunted Ship, Breed of Courage, Black Butterflies, Green Grass Widows, and Manhattan Nights. Hallor died in a head-on automobile crash on a highway near Palm Springs, California, on April 16, 1944. At the time he operated a restaurant. He was the brother of screen actresses Edith Hallor (1896-1971) and Ethel Hallor (1882-1967).
Note: Sometimes his surname appeared in print as "Haller."
