Actress (1914)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Miss Maude Pease appeared in Thanhouser films in 1914.

Biographical Notes: Maude Pease, who appeared in at least two Thanhouser films in 1914, was married the year before to Frank A. Grimmer, who performed many duties at the Thanhouser studio in New Rochelle (see separate biography).

The Evening Standard carried the following in its edition of June 27, 1913: "Miss Maude Pease, daughter of Mrs. Rose Pease, Mount Vernon, was married to Frank Grimmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Grimmer, 16 Howe Avenue at his new home, 150 Main Street, Wednesday afternoon. Reverend Charles S. Rahn, pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, performed the ceremony. The bride was given away by her uncle, John Pease. She wore a pearl gray satin gown and carried white roses. Miss Emma Hansen, Mount Vernon, was bridesmaid. She wore Alice blue satin and carried pink roses. The best man was George Grimmer, brother of the groom.

"A reception followed the ceremony, after which the couple left for a wedding trip. The groom presented the bride a pearl broach and to the best man he gave a scarf pin. The bridesmaid received a lavalliere. Mrs. Grimmer is a sister of Harry Pease, a song writer who is well known in New Rochelle and Mount Vernon. Mr. Grimmer is popular in this city. He is assistant stage director to Eugene Moore of the Thanhouser Film Corporation. He was with Cohan and Harris in Forty-Five Minutes From Broadway, The Talk of New York, and other Broadway plays. His colleagues in the Thanhouser studio presented the couple with a handsome silver service."

When Frank Grimmer died on October 13, 1942, Maude survived him, as did their son and daughter, Frank and Lilyon. At the time Mr. and Mrs. Grimmer made their home in New Rochelle at 42 Clinton Place.
