Thanhouser Career Synopsis: George Webber was a cameraman with Thanhouser from about 1913 to 1917.
Biographical Notes: George Webber was born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada in 1876 and was educated in the public schools of New York City and at the City College of New York. His professional career included camera work for Lubin (Tillie's Tomato Surprise), World, Biograph, and Thanhouser. For Thanhouser he photographed many films, including the 1914-1915 serials, The Million Dollar Mystery and Zudora. In April 1915 he departed from Thanhouser to join the World Film Corporation. However, he returned soon thereafter and worked well into 1917. In 1916 and 1917 his home address was 4102 Fifth Avenue, Brooklyn, New York. He later went to Metro, where he photographed The Eternal Mother. George Webber died in New York City on August 29, 1967.
Note: His surname was misspelled as "Weber" in some publicity.
