Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Nan Bernard was an actress with Thanhouser in 1914.
Biographical Notes: Nan Duval was born in Peabody, Kansas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Duval. She married William Bernard, and under the name of Nan Bernard she was seen before the footlights in various stock productions. She acted on the stage in Manhattan, the Warburton Theatre in Yonkers, New York, and the Hudson Theatre in Union Hill, New Jersey. Following her first husband's death, she married Sam Taylor, of the Sam Taylor stock company.
She was signed as a Thanhouser film player in 1915, at which time it was said that she had never appeared before the motion picture camera before. Nan Duval Bernard Taylor died on July 19, 1938 in the Richmond Memorial Hospital, Princess Bay, Staten Island, New York. At the time she was living at 3704 Hylan Avenue, Great Kills, Staten Island.
Note: Her surname was occasionally misspelled as "Barnard."
