RENEVANT, George *

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: George Renevant appeared in a Thanhouser film in 1915.

Biographical Notes: George Renevant was born Georges de Cheux, in Paris, France, on April 23, 1893 (one account says 1894). He followed a career on the stage and became well known. He appeared in films over a long period of years through the early 1950s. Following a protracted illness, George Renevant died in Guadalajara, Mexico, on January 2, 1969. At one time he was married to Selena Royle, an actress, who survived him. For several years previous he had been active in retirement in Guadalajara and had designed houses, co-authored cookbooks with his wife, and had been seen on the stage at the Teatro Experimental.

Note: His first name sometimes appeared as "Georges" (actually his real name) in publicity, and his surname was sometimes misspelled as "Renevent."
