Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Daniel Leighton appeared in Thanhouser films in 1916.
Biographical Notes: Daniel Leighton was born in 1880, the son of noted Irish actor Horace Leighton. He followed an early career on the stage. By 1915 he was in films with Vitagraph, appearing in A Question of Right and Wrong, The Patent Food Conveyor, and other subjects, including the 1916 releases of The Crown Prince's Double and The Supreme Temptation. Daniel Leighton played in several Thanhouser films in 1916 but was not extensively featured in publicity. By late 1916 the actor was with Universal, appearing in their releases beginning early in 1917, including The Girl Who Lost, The Startling Climax, Chubby Takes a Hand, The Phantom's Secret, and A Blissful Calamity. Daniel Leighton lived only a short time after joining Universal. His death occurred of a heart attack, in his studio dressing room, on June 20, 1917 in Los Angeles, California. He was survived by his widow and a child.
Note: His first name appeared as "David" in some publicity.
