Biographical Notes: A news item concerning the feathered actor appeared in The New Rochelle Pioneer, October 3, 1914: "Oswald McCardell was cast this week in Zudora, Daniel Carson Goodman's creation of mystery. Roy L. McCardell and Miss McCardell were at the studio to see Oswald act. He made a hit. Oswald, you know, is a parrot, and some parrot, if you take it from us."
