Volume III: Biographies
Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Taku Takagi appeared in several 1912 Thanhouser releases and headed what Thanhouser designated as "a special Japanese stock company."
Biographical Notes: Tokuko Takagi, a Japanese lady known in the United States as Taku Takagi (possibly also as C. Taka; see biographical entry under this name), toured the United States, then returned to Japan to become that country's first toe dancer and achieved great popularity but died at a young age. Her biography, written by Mrs. Teruko Yoshitake, was published in 1985 by the Bungei Shunju company. The title of the work translates into English as Die Dancing; Tokuko Takagi, Queen of the Musicals.
