MC INNIS, Stuffy *

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Stuffy McInnis, a player with the Philadelphia Athletics baseball team, appeared in the Thanhouser-Princess film, The Final Game, which depicted highlights from the last game of the 1913 World Series, played in New York City on October 11, 1913.

Biographical Notes: John Phalen ("Stuffy") McInnis was born on September 19, 1890 in Gloucester, Massachusetts. He was a player in major league professional baseball for 19 years, including service with the Philadelphia Athletics from 1909 to 1917. He participated in five World Series contests, 1911, 1913, 1914, 1918, and 1925. Standing just over 5'9" tall, he weighed 162 pounds. In the final game of the 1913 World Series, filmed by Thanhouser, he played first base and was at bat twice. McInnis died on February 16, 1960 in Ipswich, Massachusetts.
