Notes: 1. This is a reissue of Inspiration, originally released on November 18, 1915. Inspiration, featuring Miss Munson nude, was one of the most discussed films of its era. As an article in The Moving Picture World, October 26, 1918, reprinted below, indicates, an effort was made to mislead the public and to imply that this was a new film, not a reissue. However, this ruse was to be used only where the public didn't know better; i.e., in towns where Inspiration had not been shown earlier. 2. The Perfect Model was released on a states rights basis, with sales to distributors commencing about October 21, 1918. Sales to new territories continued well into the year 1919.
ARTICLE (part of the "Advertising Aids for Busy Managers" column), The Moving Picture World, October 26, 1918:
"The Perfect Model: Thanhouser presents Audrey Munson in an absorbing story of great adventures of a country girl in a great city. Cast: The model (Audrey Munson), the artist (Thomas A. Curran), the artist's friends (George Marlo and Burt Delaney).
"The story: A young artist vainly seeks a model who will realize his ideals. Friends send him models, but they fail to meet his demands. At last the automobile in which he is riding runs down a young girl. She has come to the city to make her way, and consents to pose for the artist. He is doubtful of her ability, but she proves to be the realization of his ideal. She leaves him when the statue is completed, thinking he loves one of the women of wealth who frequent his studio, and becomes lost to him, but at last he meets her, sick and faint, just out of the hospital, and tells his love at last.
"Feature Audrey Munson as the model and Thomas Curran as the artist.
"Program and Advertising Phrases: Audrey Munson, Famous Star of Hypocrites, Returns In Equally Sensational Photoplay. World Famous Art Model Appears As Star of Photoplay. The Daring Romance of An Artist's Bohemian World. The Perfect Model Reflected in Truthfully Typical Scenes. Camera Daring Reaches Its Climax in This Sensational Photoplay. Nature and Art Combined in Camera Reflections of Nature and Life.
"Advertising Angles: The story is not offered as a reissue of Inspiration, but if that picture has played your town it would be well to offer this as a new version instead of seeking to create the impression that it is new. Where it has not been played work on the fame of the model, and name some of the well-known statues for which she has posed. Use plenty of stills. They should prove your best selling argument.
"Advertising Aids: One one-sheet, one three-sheet, one six-sheet, 8x10, 11x14, and 22x28 photos for lobby displays. Heralds. Slides."
