February 10, 1916 (Thursday)
Private advertising film
Length: 1 reel or less
Character: Fashion show
Cameraman: A.H. Moses, Jr.

Note: This was a privately-made film utilizing Thanhouser's chief cameraman at the Jacksonville studio and one of Thanhouser's leading actresses there. The release date of February 10, 1916 is approximate. The length of the film is unknown as is its exact title. The film was sponsored by Levy's, as the following advertisement relates. Apparently, it was intended that several films would be made as new fashions arrived from New York City.
LEVY'S ADVERTISEMENT, The Florida Metropolis, February 9, 1916:
"The well-known firm of Levy's has just made arrangements for a novel fashion exhibit to be given at the Arcade Theatre [in Jacksonville] daily, and ladies will see here a lifelike display of the latest fashions in suits and gowns. Miss Louise Bates, of the Thanhouser Company, has posed for a series of fashion pictures similar to those shown in Pathé Weekly and other picture films. Only gowns on sale in Jacksonville at Levy's will be shown at the Arcade, and as the latest models are brought from New York Miss Bates will appear in them at the theatre, thus enabling patrons of Levy's to make their selections. The excellence of photography which means so much in bringing out the details of the models is assured by the fact that Alfred H. Moses, chief cameraman of the Thanhouser Company, will make all of the fashion pictures. Mr. A. Morris, of Levy's, makes monthly visits to New York, and his selections will be shown immediately after their arrival here. It is expected that this novel fashion service will be inaugurated during the latter part of the present week. - Adv."
ARTICLE, The Florida Metropolis, February 5, 1916:
"Louise Bates, of the Thanhouser Company, will soon be seen in a series of fashion pictures for Levy's to be shown at the Arcade. Mr. Seligman, of the Levy concern, selected Miss Bates from among the movie stars now in Jacksonville. Some girl and some gowns."
