SYNOPSIS, Reel Life, August 1, 1914:
"Cecil Waters is in love with Walter Dillon, the head clerk in the office. However, Florence Mills, the daughter of her employer, is infatuated with Dillon, and when expenses are cut down and part of the force laid off, Cecil finds herself heading the blue list. Florence knows that Cecil has an invalid mother, whom only country air and luxuries can save. She goes to the girl, offering all this - if she will surrender Dillon. At first defiant, Cecil at last succumbs. 'To him who hath shall be given - '"
REVIEW, The Bioscope, November 26, 1914:
"That very charming and highly accomplished young actress, Miss Muriel Ostriche, scores a decided personal triumph in this film, wherein she gives a performance of very great beauty and, occasionally, real power. The story itself is artificial, and its ending is unnecessarily weak and unsatisfactory. It is, however, the vehicle for some fine acting, and, as such, it is acceptable production. The staging and photography are on this company's usually high level of excellence."
REVIEW, The Moving Picture World, August 15, 1914:
"An open and shut melodrama of pronounced type. The gallery will, no doubt, like it much; for it has good situations. To the rest of the audience it will be delightful as unconscious comedy; for it is such a rich specimen of its kind."
