Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Elinore C. ("Nora") Riley was an employee in the film laboratory at the Thanhouser studio from at least 1911 to 1917.

Biographical Notes: Nora Riley was shown on a set in a still from one of the David Copperfield films (Thanhouser, 1911) as a member of the "joining room brigade," reproduced in The Moving Picture News, January 20, 1912. She was among those in attendance at the Thanhouser picnic and outing on September 7, 1912. The New Rochelle Pioneer, December 26, 1914, reported that she had recently been promoted from film repairer to the position of negative cutter. Her former job of film repairing was assigned to Grace Gerritzen. From 1916 through at least 1918 she lived with Irene W. Riley, also a film joiner, at 39 Hudson Street in New Rochelle.
